GitGuardian is proud to be the 2021 winner of the FIC (International Cybersecurity Forum) Cybersecurity Start-up of the year award.

In total, 52 innovative and high growth cybersecurity nominees fought for the honor of becoming the winner of the 2021 FIC start-up of the year. After careful consideration, 11 finalists were audited by a high-level jury made up of representatives from the French cybersecurity ecosystem headed by Zeina Zakhour, Global CTO Digital Security, ATOS. GitGuardian was ultimately announced as the 2021 winner.

Previous winners of this prestigious award include cybersecurity superstars like: Alsid who was just acquired by Tenable, Sqreen who was acquired by Datadog, Olvid and CybelAngel who were all just recently promoted to the French Next40 startup program.

Presented as part of the International Cybersecurity Forum, the FIC Startup Award aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the cybersecurity sector. Every year, a high level jury composed of representatives of the French cybersecurity ecosystem distinguishes the most innovative companies in the sector.

This year, the11 finalists GitGuardian competed against included many promising and innovative companies including: Bfore.ai, CrowdSec, Cryptonext Security, Glimps, Hackuity, Malizen, Moabi, Red Alert Labs, Ubble and Uniris.

The finalist had to pitch their business to a jury of experts who evaluated and audited them against 4 criteria: Innovation, maturity, operational input and economic viability. In addition to GitGuardian winning the start-up of the year award, two other companies received recognition from the Jury with Hacktuity awarded the Jury award and Ubble awarded Jury favourite award.

The International Cyber Security Forum (FIC)

The International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC) has established itself as the benchmark event in Europe for digital security and trust. Hybrid by nature, the FIC combines a Forum, a Trade Show and a Summit bringing together closed meetings with a very high level presence of authorities.

Through the FIC Startup Award, the event actively contributes to innovation of the cyber industry, creating a space that brings together numerous startups every year. This year, the FIC welcomes 40 startups: the startup nominees and winners of the FIC Startup Award 2021, those of the FIC 2020 and international startups.

The 2020 FIC event brought together a staggering amount of security users and professionals including 12,500 visitors to the physical conference with 500 exhibiting partners and the International Forum receiving a total of 488 million views of the 450 speakers from 110 nationalities.
